The world has recognized that environmental problems are something that cannot be ignored. This reality extends to and directly involves the business community as leaders in society and generators of "employment, collective wealth and social well-being". As an educational institution, IE Business School has both the privilege and obligation to be a leader in that business community, leading by example and channelling its influence vis a vis students, corporate education, research and engagement with the public. IE Business School has, for years, promoted Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability through various independent initiatives. To further existing environmental initiatives, the school has created ecologIE with the objective of fostering interaction among IE students, faculty, staff, environmentally responsible corporations, field experts, similarly minded business schools and other academic institutions. Members of ecologIE have already begun an internal, student-run energy audit, which will be the first step in evaluating and reconsidering how we operate as an educational institution and business entity. IE Business School, as a whole, stands firmly behind this introspective task and aims to take full advantage of the opportunity, adapting its infrastructure and further assuming its role as leader, educator and innovator in environmental sustainability. The audit and the development of ecologIE represent a clear commitment involving practical and tangible efforts that go beyond statements and promises. First and foremost ecologIE is about solutions, opportunities and action.
Welcome and we look forward to your involvement through events, projects and pursing any initiatives you may be interested in pursuing.
